From 10.00 am to 12.00 noon on Saturday morning, J-CAN had a stand near the planted-up cider press in King Street, St Helier.
As part of our Countdown to Copenhagen campaign, we collected nearly 200 signatures on a petition that says, “We, the undersigned, petition the States of Jersey as follows: Following publication of the targets agreed at the Copenhagen Conference, the Council of Ministers should give detailed consideration to these targets and report back to the States within six months of the closing date of the Conference on how they intend to respond, their report to include detailed proposals and timescales.”
Thank you to all those who showed their support that day and since. If you haven't tracked it down yet, you will see the petition in several local shops and in other places around the island between now and November. If not, you can download a copy to sign from this website - see the campaign page, linked above.
We also have a big, bold banner to identify J-CAN when we appear in public these days. When the weather's not too bad, we can put together a simple demonstration of a solar panel providing mains power to drive a laptop, which then can display a big version of our Countdown to Copenhagen counter.
