The Introduction to Permaculture Course

Permaculture is about creating sustainable human habitats by following nature's patterns. It seeks to introduce design into agriculture in order to create permanent high-yielding agricultural ecosystems, so that humans can thrive on as little land as possible.

From 23rd – 25th October 2009 there will be an introductory course in Guernsey for all who are interested in these and the other principles of the permaculture philosophy. Permaculture is an innovative framework for creating sustainable ways of living; a practical method for developing ecologically harmonious, efficient and productive systems that can be used by anyone, anywhere. This course is a first for Guernsey, it is an opportunity to gain mutual support from other like-minded islanders. Aranya, an experienced U.K. Permaculturist, will be teaching the workshop. If you are interested in living sustainably, integrating with your community and meeting your needs in food and energy, this is for you.

The cost of the course is £80 for the weekend, including lunches, snacks, drinks and a donation to G-CAN (our sister organisation in Guernsey), and more information is available from this handout. If you would like to apply, download and fill in the booking form and send it off.
